The short answer: a simple website in Latvia can be built for a few hundred euros. A company website with several pages usually costs from a few hundred to a couple of thousand euros, and an online shop or a site with customer accounts costs more. The price follows the amount of work: how many pages you need, who writes the texts, what the site has to do and what happens after launch.
Below are our prices (the same ones as on the site, in the proposal and in the contract) and a checklist for comparing offers from different studios.
What a website costs, by type
- Starter website — €99 incl. VAT. One page for a small business or a sole trader: your offer, services, photos, contacts and an enquiry form. Hosting for 12 months and a .lv domain for the first year are included, and we invoice after launch.
- Landing page — from €250, 3–5 working days. One page for one service or ad campaign: services, prices, benefits, contacts and an enquiry form.
- Company website with 5–10 pages — from €350, 7–10 working days. With a content management system (CMS), so you can change texts and prices yourself, and basic SEO.
- Website with customer accounts, subscriptions and payments — from €1200, 1–2 weeks.
- Online shop — priced by estimate. It depends on the size of the catalogue and the payment and delivery options you need; the amount goes into the contract.
All prices except the starter website are without VAT. The price and the deadline are fixed in the contract.
What the price depends on
- Pages and languages. Every page is text, structure and a check on a phone. A second language means another set of texts.
- Texts and photos. If you send them, the work goes faster. If the developer writes the texts, that is part of the price.
- Features. Almost every site has an enquiry form. Booking, payments, customer accounts or a link to your accounting system need programming, so the price goes up.
- Content management. If you want to change texts, prices and images yourself, you need a CMS.
- Design. A site built on a proven base is faster and cheaper than a design from scratch with several rounds of mock-ups.
What you pay after launch
A website needs a domain and hosting. The domain is registered in your company's name and you pay the yearly fee to the registrar. Hosting, the SSL certificate, daily backups, security updates and small fixes are part of our care plan at €25 a month without VAT.
Ask about this amount when you compare offers. Cheap development with expensive or unclear upkeep can cost more after a year than a pricier offer with clear terms.
What to check before you sign
- Are the price and the deadline written into the contract?
- What exactly is included: number of pages, languages, enquiry form, mobile version, basic SEO.
- Who will own the site and the domain. It should be you: the domain registered in your company's name and the logins handed over to you.
- How much the monthly upkeep costs and what it covers.
- Whether fixes after launch are free, and for how long.
- How the site will be prepared for Google Search: titles, descriptions, speed on phones.
Website builder or developer?
With a website builder you can make a site yourself, usually for a monthly fee. That works if you have time to plan the structure, write the texts and check how the page looks on a phone. If you don't, or the site has to bring in enquiries, it usually pays to hand it to someone who does this every day and to know the price up front.
